Month 13: Jan 13 - Feb 12, 2006

Jan 15: starts blowing kisses to Mom and Dad.

Jan 25: pooped in the tub (YUCK!) and then finnished the job on the toilet. Afterwards, as Mom was getting her dressed, she looked up with this odd expression and stared at Mom. Then, she tipped her head up and leaned in to give Mom a kiss. Ahhh, she melted Mom's heart! In other matters, the offer we put on a house is accepted and we will be home owners in less than a month!

Jan 26: playing 'peek-a-boo' using her bib to cover her face.

Jan 31: Evelyn gets a nice sinus cold and starts to try to put things into containers rather than always taking them out and strewing them everywhere.

Feb 3: we all go to Edmonton to sign mortgage papers and Evelyn gets to go see the puppies in the pet store. She has a blast and loves having the puppies lick her fingers.

Feb 5: Starts putting toys down 'just so' with the utmost concentration. She absolutely had to put her spoon in the center of her hippo. Dad tried to move it and got a real earful! She also took a pigglet figure out and placed it carefully on the table so that it was standing upright.

Feb 6: trying to put shapes throught the holes of her shape sorter dump truck. She passes the triangle through the hexagon shape several times. Sure, the shapes don't match, but the triangle still fit through, so it worked! She then flips up the hatch, takes the triangle out and puts it through the hexagon again.

Feb 7: placing her nesting cups into each other. Said "Hi Dad" when Dad came through the door after work and repeated it when he did not answer her. I think we have our first words! They were understandable and in context. Pretty cool! Her soon-to-be right upper middle tooth is showing a tiny white speck through the gum.

Feb 8: heard and saw a dog barking while on a walk and said "Dog" and then "Dup-py" spontainiously and unprompted and in context. (Duppy is her word for dog/puppy) We have her second word/phrase!

Feb 9: her other upper middle tooth shows a white speck. Will she be getting them both at the same time? come back next month to find out!

We will be taking posession of our new house on Feb 22. We will be moving on the 25th. Our new address is:

Caslan is the hamlet where Ryan's school is. We will be walking distance from the school in a 3 bdr, 1 bath, split level house, on 0.83 of an acre. We have a well, a septic field and a big back yard with trees on one side of the property. The basement is unfinished, but we have great plans! We are only 3 km from a provincial park with a campground that is on a big lake (North Buck Lake) so come on up and visit us this summer!
